Suffusion Collapse Menu headerA new version of plugin is live on WordPress Repository. In the previous versions I’ve added a media query for hiding the collapsed menu on screens with resolution greater than 480px, so the menu was showed only on smaller screens, no matter whatever breakpoints was settled at Suffusion Options -> Layouts -> Responsive Layouts.

I wasn’t happy with this “fixed” solution, so, starting from this new version I changed this. From now, the collapsed menu will follow the setting from Suffusion Options -> Layouts -> Responsive Layouts -> Switches -> Navigation Menu. If you choose there “Always”, the usual Navigation Bar will be replaced with the collapsed button on all devices, at any resolution. If the choice is “Never”, the navigation bar will stay at any resolution and no collapse button will appear. Otherwise the button will be showed at the selected breakpoint (240, 320, 480, 650 or 980px).

So, from now exists only one setting for Suffusion and Suffusion Collapse Menu which is better for consistency with theme options and usability of the plugin.

If you have any thoughts or need help with the plugin, please ask here in comments or on WordPress support forum.

  1. Hi,

I’ve installed the collapse menu plugin, set the site to responsive and made the below header nav bar sticky. Problem is the menu becomes distorted in responsive, by becoming taller and floats the search bar above the nav links. This hides the top of the content page. Currently I have the select menu to kick in at default. However, the top menu still shows.

If you could point me in the right direction to fix this, I’d be grateful.

  2. That worked. Thanks, Drake!

I want to point out that I checked my menu settings and they were both set for ”left,” before applying your custom include that fixed it.

  3. The button respect the alignment settled for regular menu at Suffusion Options -> Other Graphical Elements, but you can change this by adding at Custom Styles:

  4. Hi, Drake. When I use this plugin the menu button appears off the right edge of the site when I’d like it to be on the left like yours. http://oi60.tinypic.com/t65lvs.jpg
